Peru’s climate is generally divided into two seasons—wet and dry—though the weather varies greatly, depending on the geographical region. The dry season in southeastern Peru occurs from May to October. Days are generally very sunny and warm. Nights will be cooler, especially at higher altitudes.
The Amazon Basin has a tropical rainforest or equatorial climate. Because it receives 12 feet of rain per year on average, you can expect days of heavy rain, heat, and humidity, even in the low water season (June through November).
